.good for you dessert? | asheville food photographer

I admire Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman. I like to think we have a lot in common: we are both moms and we are both photographers. But, sadly, that's where the similarities end. She has a simple, soft, colorful style. My style? Let's just say I'm still working on that! She lives in the country and is an amazing cook ... things I only dream of. I follow her on Facebook and Instagram and some times get the chance to watch her show on the Food Network. My boys laugh and say Why do you watch that and never cook any of the recipes? Well, I am proving them wrong!  I discovered a super easy, super yummy, good-for-you dessert that I can actually make! It includes all things I love - berries, yogurt and brown sugar. Emphasis on brown sugar. Give it a try and you'll be hooked!

Mix plain Greek yogurt, cream and vanilla in a bowl. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the top of the yogurt mixture, but don't stir! Cover the bowl with plastic  and place in the refrigerator for  20-30 minutes. When you're ready to serve (or eat!), place a handful of berries into a bowl and, without stirring the mixture, spoon the yogurt over the berries. Creaminess and wonderful, yummy, thick brown sugarness!  Get the full recipe here
